Nashville International Airport Sustainability Plan
When Nashville’s airport needed to update their Sustainability Master Plan, Wilmot leveraged extensive local experience to identify partnerships and funding sources to improve the original plan.
Overview
Nashville International Airport (BNA) was selected by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) as one of ten airports chosen nationwide to participate in a Sustainable Master Plan Program. In 2012, the Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority (MNAA) completed Nashville International Airport’s (BNA) first Sustainability Plan. In 2018, Wilmot partnered with BNA’s sustainability team to update and streamline the original plan.
Wilmot’s Role
Wilmot evaluated the materials management practices at BNA, using their initial study as a baseline. Working with BNA’s in-house team, additional waste reduction opportunities were identified, and procedural guides created.
Additionally, Wilmot performed research and leveraged local knowledge to identify partnerships opportunities and sustainability strategies, including potential state and local funding sources.
