2nd Avenue Waste Master Plan
Background:
The Wilmot team partnered with 2nd Avenue businesses and stakeholders, The Downtown Partnership, area architectural firms, MDHA and other Metro Nashville departments to research and design a new waste master plan and operational template to complement the area‘s reconstruction. Research and design were done over 18 months and Wilmot is currently working on plan implementation.
Next Steps:
The 2nd Avenue plan details the distribution of custom designed resources to add recycling and composting to the district for the first time. Estimates have been built for capital expenditures and operations. Planning also includes an overview of waste collection procedures, a recycling center draft design and facilities handbook. The current timeline is to complete the first phase of implementation by December 2025.

Metro support for creation of a single organization to oversee operations, billing and materials collection
Phase in of operations to coincide with the reopening of 2nd Avenue’s South Block in 2025.
